Spiti Valley Motorbike Tour

Tour Itinerary

Day 01 Delhi /Chandigarh - Shimla

Pick up from Delhi or Chandigarh and move to Shimla by Car/Volvo.Overnight stay at Shimla.

Day 02: Shimla / Sarahan (175 kms/ 3-4 hrs) .

This will be the very first day of your motorbike ride .On your Royal Enfield bikes move from Shimla to Narkanda enroute visiting Kufri. On arrival check in at hotel/ camp. Later you have option to ride up till Hatu Peak (3300 m) to enjoy a magnificent view of the region. On your bikes from Naraknda to Sarahan visit the famous Bhimakali temple in Sarahan, regarded as one of the Shaktipeeths. Overnight stay at Sarahan.

Day 03: Sarahan / Sangla (91 kms /4-5 hrs)

After breakfast continue ride to Sangla. On arrival check in at camp . Overnight at camp.

Day 04: Sangla / Kalpa (103 kms/ 6 hrs)

Morning a short ride up till visiting the picturesque village of Chitkul and later return back to Sangla and visit Kamru Fort & village. We continue our ride down Sangla Valley and then continue further to Kalpa. On arrival in Kalpa check in at hotel. Kalpa is a beautiful village located in the backdrop of Kinner Kailash Mountain range. Rest of the day free to explore the surrounding. Overnight at hotel.

Day 05: Kalpa / Nako /Tabo (165 kms/ 8 hrs drive)

Morning on your bikes to Nako enroute visiting confluence of river Satluj & Spiti at Khab. From here we continue our climb up to Nako. On arrival check in at camp. Evening free to explore Nako village which is located on banks of a lake and visit the monastery. Evening visit the village, the Buddhist temples with stucco images and murals and a rock where a footprint like impression is ascribed to Padmasambhava. Overnight stay at Guest House.

Day 06: Tabo /Kaza (55 kms/ 3 hrs)

After an early breakfast at camp ride on to Tabo village along the Spiti river. Tabo monastery was founded in 996 AD by the great teacher Richensang-po, Tabo is renowned for its breathtaking murals and stucco images - and is often called "The Ajanta of the Himalayas". The largest monastic complex in Spiti, the old section has 9 temples, 23 chortens, a monks chamber and a nuns chamber. There are several caves adorned with frescoes and contemporary structures too. In trans Himalayan Buddhism, Tabo's sanctity is next only to Tibet's Tholing gompa.

Day 07: In Kaza -Kee / Kibber / Lalung / Pin Valley / Kaza (Full day)

Morning visit the Kee monastery, 12 kms from Kaza. This centuries - old gompa is a labyrinth of rooms and corridors - and at one time also acted as a fort. It houses valuable Thangkas and offers a panoramic view of the area. Also visit the small gompa at Kibber, 9 kms further ahead. Kibber at 4205 m has the distinction of being the highest permanently inhabited village of the region. Continue biking to Dhankar village & monastery. This Monastery at Dhankar rests high over the valley and is a stupendous example of local architecture. It is regarded to have once been a fort and was also the residence of the ruler of Spiti - the Nano. Then we will ride to visit the old monastery at Lalung village and then ride to Pin Valley, the land of Ibex and Snow Leopards. Here we also visit Gungri Monastery and then continue our biking to Kaza. overnight at hotel.. Ride back to Kaza and evening free to explore the town. Overnight at hotel.

Day 08: Kaza / Chandertal (170 kms/ 6-7 hr)

On your bikes from Kaza to base of Chandertal lake enroute crossing some very beautiful villages of Spiti Valley and crossing over Kunzam pass (4558 m). On arrival check in at camp. Rest of the day free to explore the surrounding. Overnight at hotel.

Day 09: Chandertal / Manali (116 kms/ 7 hrs)

Early morning by walk (1 hrs one way) to visit Chandertal (The moon lake - 4270 m) which is of exquisite beauty between a lower ridge and the main Kunzum range, the outlet being into Chandra river. Enjoy the charming scenery and ride your Royal Enfield bikes to Manali, riding along the Chandra river on the dirt road providing views of Bara Shigri Glacier and CB ranges. From Gramphu we climb our way up to Rohtang Pass (3980 m) and then meandering our way down to Manali where the tour ends.

Day 10: Manali - Delhi

Depart Manali for your further destination.
